

Temperature Level
- Tank Temperatures: These lizards prefer the basking (warm) side of the tank to be at 95F – 100F, and the ambient (cool) side around 80F – 85F.
- Heat Lighting: A 75 watt – 100-watt daylight bulb is perfect for most starter size tanks which are equivalent to a 20 or 20-gallon high tank. As these animals get larger they will require larger cages, and more powerful bulbs to maintain these temps.
- UVB Lighting: A 13 watt 5.0 UVB bulb is needed for this lizard.

Humidity Levels
This lizard prefers higher humidity levels around 60%-80%. Daily misting is perfect for maintaining humidity

Diet/ Feeding
• Food: These guys need a varied diet of green and red leaf lettuce, squash, carrots, collard greens, kale, sweet potatoes, strawberries, banana, papaya, canned iguana diet, and dry iguana diet. • Supplements: Food should be sprinkled with multivitamin and calcium with d3 at every meal.

Habitat Needs
- Enclosure Size: Babies can start out in an open-air screen cage or 20-gallon tank. Adults will most likely need a custom enclosure. The recommended minimum adult cage size is 48″ X 72″ X 72″.
- Substrate (Bedding): Cypress mulch and Coco Husk are the perfect substrates for this animal.
- Accessories: A water bowl, thick branches, wooden platforms are ideal cage accessories for this lizard.

Ease Of Care
A good species for those with some experience. Remember though, males can grow to over 6 feet in length. To maintain a good temperament and disposition these lizards should be handled often.

Breeding Method
Iguanas lay eggs once a year and can lay up to 40 eggs that will hatch out in the spring. Their eggs require an incubation temperature of 86F and may need up to 120 days to hatch.
